The Astrological Planet

The Astrological Planet JupiterWith its numerous moons and several rings, the Jupiter system is a "mini-solar system." Jupiter is the most massive planet in our solar system, and in composition it resembles a small star. In fact, if Jupiter had been between fifty and one hundred times more massive, it would have become a star rather than a planet.

Astrological Influences of Jupiter

The Planet Jupiter is the Planet of Luck.

Jupiter rules good luck, health, optimism, happiness, wealth, health, and success in all our undertakings. His reward is expansion in our individual selves.

On a higher level, the Planet Jupiter establishes a thirst for knowledge and learning. It has its emphasis on wisdom and the potential for exploring new ideas and formulating new ideology. He does this through our intellect and is the guardian of our mind. He helps us to be open to new opportunities and possibilities that will bring about the luck he reflects into our lives.

Jupiter is also the “lamplighter for our souls” and the “way-shower” for abundance and growth. Jupiter is called ”The Great Benefic,” as he bestows his blessings on us when we heed the call to elevate ourselves to perfection through generosity, enthusiasm, and balance.

The Planet Jupiter is the upholder of social order. His guiding light inspires humanity to strive for higher ideals. When we put our higher learning, ethics, morality, and philosophy together to serve society, Jupiter, the “bringer of enlightenment”, smiles.

 Mythology of Jupiter

To the Greeks, Jupiter is known as Zeus. It is also associated with Marduk, one of the gods of the Pantheon. To the Hindus, Jupiter is know as Brahmanaspati.

"God created the stars and the heaven for more than the sake of beauty. He gave them to us for interpretation so that we may live a more productive life. Man is superior to the stars if he lives in the power of superior wisdom. Such a person, being the master over heaven and earth, by means of his will, is a Magus, and magic is not sorcery but supreme wisdom."
