Cancer Compatibility

Cancer Sun SignCancer's congenial companionship will be found with those born in Pisces and Scorpio. Children will be strongest when a Cancer and a Pisces person are united.

Cancer Faults

Cancer's faults are laziness, selfishness, jealousy, vanity, and love of money for money's sake and for purposes of display. The undeveloped Cancer woman will go to great lengths to obtain the garments and jewels which her really fine taste covets beyond anything else in the world. These Cancer women like to wear sparkling gems, and are always striving to show them to the best advantage. They can be exceedingly fickle and inconstant, and because of this may be unhappy in their relationships. They exact constancy in others, and appear to be quite unaware of their own negligence in this respect.

Cancer men, as well as Cancer women, are inordinately fond of seeing their names in print, and seek the plaudits of the mob. They can be cruel and vindictive, and are quick to resent a personal criticism.  They claim to be the paragons of truth, but are inclined to much fabrication.

Cancer is the only sign of the Zodiac governed by the Moon, and the changeable qualities of the people are attributed to its influence.

Cancer Dis-Eases

The dis-eases likely to attack these people are weak digestion and gastric troubles.

These ailments can be minimized by those who realize that mind is the master and body the servant of mind.

Cancer Mode of Growth

As these people have great aptitude in learning new things, they should give themselves to such study as will strengthen the will and enlighten the conscience. Spiritual and metaphysical subjects should be taken up, and the substitution of the true for the false, the reality for the sham, should be religiously attempted. They should strive for loyalty, constancy, nobility in all matters. They should put a bridle on their tongues, and cultivate respect as well as toleration for other people's opinions.

Cancer Children

The greatest care should be taken with Cancer children, and their training and development should commence very early. Their exceeding sensitivities can makes them hard to manage, although these little ones are very obliging and gentle if properly treated. They are sympathetic with sorrow and suffering, but inclined to dwell upon the abnormal aspects of these conditions, and can grow very nervous and excited when describing them.

The attention of these children should be turned in the early years to the contemplation of the true, the sweet, the tender, the harmonious. They should not be taken to funerals, nor made to spend much time with people who are very ill.

They should always be dressed simply, no matter what the social position or condition of the parents. In every possible way the attention of the young should be turned to the attainment of "a quiet spirit." It is an especially good plan to have regular times for these little ones to sit perfectly still and perfectly silent. Five minutes three or four times a day will be of the greatest assistance in their development. Such periods of forced rest from all activity of tongue and limb are very helpful for the restless, nervous, and talkative children of every sign.

The proper development of Cancer children is often seriously retarded by over-fond parents and guardians, who insist upon clasping them close to themselves. These electro-magnetic conditions can be annoying, exciting, and very debilitating to the nervous system. As a rule, no child should sleep with older people, but this is particularly true of Cancer children, who are very easily depleted and made ill.

No pains should be spared to familiarize these children with the laws of life. Special care should be given to their diet and their hours of rest and sleep.

With care and consideration, these children can be brought to a spiritually harmonious manhood and womanhood, and, when this is accomplished, there are no stronger, more brilliant, or more useful people than those who stand at the head of the Water Triplicity.

The Cusp of Gemini-Cancer, June 22 to 28

Persons born at this time need the utmost care in childhood. It will pay the parents to be very vigilant—indeed, this is true of Gemini  and Cancer separately—but when these signs blend, there is double reason for the fatherly and motherly eye. Gemini soars and Cancer floats or swims according to fancy.  These natives are very self-willed and opinionated, though the best friends and neighbors on earth if left alone.

A Cancer female born on this cusp is often quite seductive. A marital engagement may simply be considered a sensation to be escaped from without compunction. Sometimes, marriage is held quite as loosely. They are excessively fond of children, and in case of separation will fight to the death for their custody.

A Cancer male can care so much for pleasure that they often sacrifice home and business in its pursuit. They are often bon vivants, excessively fond of show, and possess a magnetic quality that draws everything to them. If they fail in business, they will start in again and become successful. Somebody always comes to the rescue; in the case of a Cancer man, it is very apt to be a woman who comes forward with the cash, and vice versa.

The sensuousness of Gemini and the sensuality of Cancer is a hard combination to master. They are brilliant and usually show to advantage on account of their wonderful magnetism. They are fluent talkers and sometimes great readers, though apt to be superficial. The genius of this cusp is kindliness.

"God created the stars and the heaven for more than the sake of beauty. He gave them to us for interpretation so that we may live a more productive life. Such a person, being the master over heaven and earth, by means of his will, is a Magus, and magic is not sorcery but supreme wisdom."
